Administration & Account

Administration covers everything that is scoped to your workspace rather than to a single signal. Use the console at console.owlpane.com, open Settings, and pick the section you need. Telemetry is sent to ingest.owlpane.com and the Owlpane API lives at api.owlpane.com.

Guides

  • Plans & Billing — the plan tiers, Team pricing, the trial, and billing controls.
  • Members & Roles — invite people, set roles, and understand what each role can do.
  • SSO & Provisioning — SAML 2.0, OIDC, and SCIM 2.0 (Scale and Enterprise).
  • API Tokens — personal access tokens for automation.
  • Projects & Keys — the Organization → Project → ingest key model.
  • Quotas & Limits — the plan/limits matrix and what happens at each limit.
  • Audit & Retention — telemetry, replay, and audit retention, plus audit export.

Who can do what

Most tasks are gated by your role in the workspace. In brief:

TaskRequired role
Invite or remove members, change rolesOwner or admin
Manage projects and ingest keysOwner or admin
Create and revoke API tokensOwner or admin
View invoicesOwner or admin
Change the plan, billing currency, or spend capOwner
Configure SSO, MFA requirement, audit retentionOwner
Use projects and telemetryAny member

Full details, including custom roles and namespace scoping, are in Members & Roles.

The tenancy model

Owlpane is organised in three levels:

  • User — a person who signs in to the console.
  • Organization (your workspace) — the top-level tenant. It owns projects, and telemetry is partitioned per organization.
  • Project — one per app or service. It owns the ingest keys that send telemetry, and you can set its environment and replay retention.

See Projects & Keys for the full model and key prefixes.

Before you invite anyone

  1. Pick a plan that matches your expected ingest volume — see Plans & Billing and Quotas & Limits.
  2. Create at least one project so new members have somewhere to send data — see Projects & Keys.
  3. Decide how people will sign in. Invite-based sign-in works on every plan; SAML/OIDC and SCIM require Scale or Enterprise — see SSO & Provisioning.

Hosts

Owlpane is a hosted service. The three hosts you will interact with are:

  • Console — console.owlpane.com
  • API — api.owlpane.com
  • Ingest — ingest.owlpane.com

For sending your first data, see the Quickstart and Ingest Keys & Authentication.
